Well, I'm glad it's drinkable, at least, after all that hassle! I note Brew UK no longer stock it, which says something.

It gets better day by day. No way cabernet sauvignon, but a reasonably good easy-drinking generic red, with no ill after effects.

I'm pleased to say that after 2 weeks in a polypin with oak chips it has eventually turned into a really good wine.

I made the Cantina Merlot kit. Brewed out in 5 days (to 992), cleared in 1 as the kit claimed. Tasted better than other kits ive made immediately, but has improved further over the last 2 months. Its now very nice indeed, quite easy to drink, mellow like Merlot should be, if not quite as strong in taste yet. No off flavours, no hangover.

Just started their generic 'Rose' kit, because its a popular party drink, been a day and its bubbling very well. I see no reason it wont work just as well.

Little update. The manufacturer got back, saying that the control batch was in fact in Sweden, and tests found nothing untoward. However, they said they would send me a new batch to try.

And it arrived today by a next day courier service. I will brew this without modification.
