If you're going to be priming the bottles with a bit of sugar to get a bit of fizz in the bottle , then it would be kind of counter productive to remove the fizz before trying to put it back in?

If you're going for a flat cider, then I'm not sure, one of the people with loads more knowledge than me will be able to help.

No need either way really. as you really need to let cider mature in bulk for at least a month before bottling in which case the gas will have gone and the sediment dropped. :thumb:

thanks for that
could you answer this question please i have 20 litres of vinto cider just about finished fermenting in a 30 litre brewbin, would you say its best to let it sit on the lees for a month in the brewbin or syphon it of the lees into a clean brewbin for a month ?
and in that month should i put it somewhere cold like in the shed ?
thanks

wait till your sure its finished fermenting, at least 10 days. Then my preference would be to syphon it off into a clean Fv, air lock it and leave it for a month or so, a couple of weeks at a nice room temp then somewhere cool. Then you can decide what your going to do with it... Leave it to mature in a cool place for x number of months or bottle and drink a couple of weeks later.

thanks for advice , sounds a good idea thinking about it putting it into a clean fv then after a month if i need backsweeten its easily done then i can bottle it , cheers matey
