Looking for some more advice please.

I brewed some Blackcurrant cordial wine last night following Moleys thread. This morning I have checked the DJ and I have bubbles on the surface and bubbles passing through the airlock approx every 30 seconds. Is this OK? I was expecting there to be more activity after reading the thread. Am I just being paranoid? How long do I need to wait before I rack to another DJ?

Thanks

John

Cordial wines usually ferment slower, typically the the cordials have preservatives in them that slow the yeasts reproduction.

2 bubbles per min is day good for day 1, took me 5 days and some emergency help to get mine above 1 bubble per 5 mins.

Agreed, cordial wines can be slow starters but it sounds like yours is showing signs of life. :thumb:

It could be a month before you need to rack.

Depends how you like your wines, I prefer mine medium to medium-dry so I'd leave it until it reaches 1.000 or 0.995
