These are trees on public lands and parks. For example, I travel on the Taconic a state "parkway" (a road that is closed to commercial trucks and is only open for passenger cars) between our home upstate and the Bronx in NY city (about 300 Km) . The color is astonishing - no drains, no houses, no shoes, no lawns.
I've seen the ones in photograph 8 ...
