Harvested my Goldings today, 1st year after planting.
I picked a green weight of 358gms, which I wasn’t too displeased about, considering the young age of the bine.
Wasn’t very sure whether they were ready or not!
They had gone paler, papery and a few had brown splotches on them.
The Lupulin was darkish yellow, had quite a strong smell and my fingers were slightly sticky after picking.
I had enough to cover the bottom of one of my Oast trays (one lives in hope).
Temp set at 57C, hopefully they will be dry in the morning.
I’ve left one lateral on with about 10 Hops to monitor what happens next.
Expecting a dry weight of 72gms, just over the requirement for the bittering hops of one brew.
Still got my Fuggles and Brambling Cross to harvest, but they are far fewer.

Vacuum packed themthis morning (76 gms), they smelled so much better than any hops I've ever bought.
Dare not put them in the freezer as I've already used a sizable space for my yeast cultures.
Will post pics when I do the other two!
