Need simple idea for connecting my hops strainer to the rear of a standard plastic drum tap, can it be as simple as a bored rubber bung jammed in the hole?

A picture would help,but i have found strips about 1cm wide of silicone baking sheet wrapped (stretched somewhat) round a smaller diameter pipe a few times can make a good friction fit seal when inserted into something with a slightly larger bore.. If the difference to make up is a fraction of a mm and a single wrap of baking sheet is too much PTFE tape can work.. both are food and heat safe..
