Going on a little day trip here tomorrow with the Mrs,

Any must sees? Great beaches? Great pubs?

And what beers should I bring back?

Cheers

I remember being there for the 1970 festival with a group of mates and girlfriends :hmm:

there was some superb music, but he rest is a bit hazy ;)

edited bit .....

ELP were awesome as were Free and Hendrix was there of course, just googled the line- up to remind me of some of the bands, seen many of 'em elsewhere but the IOW festival was 'something else'

There is a great pub (The Fighting Cocks) on the A3056 Newport Road out of Sandown to the Garlic Farm/Amazon World . . . Go past the Garlic Farm and it is on the LHS of the road. Great food and good beer. . . . and they do Local Garlic Flavoured Ice Cream :thumb: :thumb:

Superb,

Thanks chaps, that's a couple more things to put on the list.
Garlic ice cream though

Whats Brown and steaming and comes out of Cowes?

The Isle of Wight Ferry :D

Never been, myself, But have seen it plenty of times from pompey when visiting family.

Sorry  forgot to mention the beaches when posted earlier and I was thinking about the IOW Festival

we were there for the whole week, went down early and remember the beaches were brilliant :thumb:

I love the Isle of wight, like Ryde, Shanklin and Sandown Beaches.

The Crab and Lobster pub in Bembridge.
The wishing well pub between St Helens and Ryde.

And if you like Fresh Crab and lobster check out "the best dressed crab in town" .
back there next June, i kor wait.

Forgot to say thanks for the advice.
It was more like the Isle of Wet but we had a nice day.
lunch at the garlic farm was amazing. Didn't try the garlic beer though :?

Brought back a couple of bottles of Fuggle De Dum, rather nice drop :drink:

Fantastic :thumb:

Hope you brought some good garlic home
