Hi - was down at the local HBS today and noticed they are selling small minikegs which hold 5l of beer for about £5 each.

Has anyone got any experiences to share about them? Any pros/cons?

or indeed, is anyone using them at all?

:drink:

I use them and recommend them, great to have a small keg of some not often drunk beer, for me that would be a stout or porter. £5 is a good price, dont suppose they do postage?

they are called 'easykegs' made by huber and are available from the Home brew shop in Farnborough - they are a web ordering specialist as well as having a shop

I'm trying to find out how many times you can reuse them.

If you take care of them and make sure to empty, clean and dry then you get a fair few goes out of them, used mine 3 or four time and no issues yet, just keep an eye on rust and doubly make sure they are dry and they're good to go. but the are disposable and will rust after a while

arrr i see they are the kegs for immediate use rather than the Co2 dispensing ones, I have never used them but am interested. Think i'll get some and see what they're like

I put 15 litres of TT Landlord clone into some last week.

I got them from Farnborough.

I'll let them condition for a couple more weeks and report back

OK so my last brew (TT Landlord style) was put into 4 minikegs to condition;

Kegged on 16 May, tapped today 4th June

Here's the keg, general view;

beer has good condition and is crystal clear, so it didn't deliver any sediment, I've had a pint now and put the tap back and closed the breather, will have to see how it lasts in a partly used minikeg.
