Brewing in a bag ,in Northampton
ive brewed a few beers,
and never really had any major infections..i did a couple of years ago have some fine film on a beer but it was ok when transfered
today i have a look at my brew,

its been fermenting for 7 days [it did have a good had on it 10 hrs into fermention]
and its got small white lumps and a bit of foam around them,
2 days ago it was crystal clear and free of anything on top,

is this an airborne infection or another type,
the fv has a lid
and it was soaked in milton for 1 hr before filling...

i will pop a hydro in it tomorrow and rack it ...

It is probably yeast that has clumped together with CO2 trapped inside.....this makes it float.
You will know if you have an infection from the smell.

i currently have the same problem. I posted about my beer a few days ago (thread can be found here viewtopic.php?f=36&t=45448)

but now, where the white bubbly patches were in the photo, little bits of white mould have formed.

I did a hydro reading yesterday and then tasted it, it smelt and taste ok.
