Old extract recipe

I recently came across an old american book of extract recipes it's asking for bierkeller light malt syrup and m & f light dme and I have done a quick Google but turned up no results does anyone know of any substitutes would I be wrong thinking light malt syrup is lme?

you can get dme in extra light, light, medium, dark, extra dark and dried wheat extract. So i suppose the nearest one to the bierkeller light. if they have specifically asked for bierkeller light instead of light DME it could be a bierkeller sponsored book or there may be a subtle difference. given the syrup is about 30% water oz for oz over DME you just need to reduce the substitute DME addition.
