Hi all, just brewing my first AG batch as we speak, seems to be going well, holding temp at around 65 C after half hour - might top up with a little hot water to keep it at that point.

My question is, once I have got the wort (hopefully around 23L), when i take a OG reading does this have to be adjusted in accordance with the temperature of the Wort, because presumably it will still be well above room temp!?

thanks for any help available!

Thanks very much for the help. Im going to follow your advice and use the Gervin Ale yeast too so thanks again!

Came out at 1057 for 20.5L, i was aiming for 1062 but hopefully i will boil off a few litres. I topped up to around 22 L and hope to end up with around 19L.

Calculated my efficiency at 234 L degrees/K (using method in Palmer's 'How to brew') which I am quite happy with for a first attempt!
