Refractometer scale. V %/%

Hi all,
My lovely wife bought me a refractometer on her own intuition. Probably after too many instances of guests asking "how strong is this beer" when they start to feel a bit squiffy and my reply being "No idea mate. I don't measure. Tastes good tho dunnit. Hic."

The problem is the scale on the refractometer is %v/v and labelled as "potential alcohol".

Can I use it? Is there a conversion to brix or SG? My google-fu has failed to find me a calculator to help.

Or do I need to replace it?

Thanks. But %v/v "potential alchohol" isn't brix or SG is it?

I need to get from %v/v "potential alchohol" to either brix or sg.

The refractometer measures the specific gravity of your wort. I don't mess around with hydrometers during my brew day, as a small drop on the plate gives you an accurate regular reading without resorting to chilling your sample down to 20 deg

Attached is a picture of the scale on this refractometer. It isn't brix, sg or Plato. So none of the calculators seem to work.

I think that's for wine? I could be wrong but its nothing like mine.

but I would say the percentage on yours is the Brix reading
