Just discovered I may not have cleaned out one of my fermentation buckets properly after the last time. Just opened it and was greeted by a waft of vinegar, and some mould growing on the side.
Worried about acetobacter thingies. Is the bucket redeemable or should I bin it? (Its white plastic. more solid than the usual buckets so would rather keep it. If it was one of the semi opaque ones I'd ditch it in a heartbeat) Just have the steriliser/cleaner from the malt miller.

Get some vwp fill it with hot water add some vwp and leave it for 24 hours then give it a good rinse with cold as long as its not scratched it will be fine

Does have some scratches inside it. Just ran out and bought a basic bucket as I need to get some beer into one today, but I'll try the vwp.
Is there an easy was to check its clean without ruining a batch of beer? water and sugar and yeast and see what happens?
