Hiya,

I made a 12l batch of golden ale yesterday using the biab method. Turned out fine (OG 1044).

I pitched 5g of CMY's 'Five' yesterday - into the wort at 23 degrees, let it sit for ten mins then gave it a good stir.

24 hours have passed and activity is slow - 30+ seconds between bubbles.

Should I attempt to kick start it? Warm it up/pitch another 5g? Should I wait?

Temp in the house hasn't dipped below 21 overnight...

I’ve had a few brews where the fermentation was very slow to start (about 48 hours). Mostly becase I under-pitched by using too little yeast. One option could be to use a starter (if you have any CMY left) to get it going.

You can pick up some yeast nutrient quite cheap for the next brew - a tsp 10 mins before the end of the boil is usually enough for a 20-25L batch to improve yeast health
