Hi, just built a stir plate and have the remains of a couple of bottles of chimay red in a 250ml 1040 light spraymalt mix on it but not sure how fast it should be spinning, should i have a whirlpool going or is it ok to just be gently spinning and stopping anything from settling?

It only needs to go fast enough to keep things from settling. If you can create a vortex without throwing the stirbar, more power to you!

It does not need to be a jacuzzi!!

Fast enough to stop the yeast setting is more than enough . . .that will help drive the CO2 out of solution (growth limiting factor) and allow more 02 in
