Brewed a 40L batch yesterday and dumped it on the yeast that I had just barreled from hit it with the brew paddle in the drill trick and went to bed
it was 1044 at 9pm last night.
this morning I went to see my baby some 14 hours into the brew, well the walls showed the beer had had some action tide mark some 8" above beer but no krausen now, it had subsided, temp was very high at 24c in my garage with a coat and a brew belt. Then I took the SG
it was 1010 at 11am this morning
14 hrs! thats not just fast thats plain crazy, obviously it was SAF04 and I have had quick brews from it before but the previous brew took 5 days to get to 1012 and struggled to stay at 18c even with coat and belt.
Well it tastes lovely no off flavours just cannot believe how fast it was the yeast must have been very hungry indeed.
