If so, I'm thinking to start dropping the temperature before the 24 hours that I would normally wait is up. Is that a good idea?

It's at 21C but after 30 minutes I gave it a good stir, and the signs of life have gone. Maybe I shouldn't have stirred? Anyway I'll see what it's up to (if anything) in the morning.
