    Stuck fermentation / under pitched?

I dry hopped it over a week ago and checked it on Sunday and there was still a lot of hops floating on the top. I gave it a gentle stir to break up hoping it would sink and settle out. I checked it last night again and there appears to be some activity, looks like the fermentation has restarted...

    Need a new APA kit

Just kicked off an youngs APA last night and made a hop tea to mix in with the wort. I used a similar recipe to brew dog dead pony. Going to dry hop with different hops too. I've made a few youngs IPA and they have came out brilliant.

    Best kit

I've done 4 evil dog iipa and all turned out pretty good 2 x youngs American IPA - decent as well Festival razzorback has got to be the best I've done All of these have been tweaked by trying different dry hopping and making a hop tea to put in the wort.

    Stuck fermentation / under pitched?

Cheers for the information, exactly what I was looking for DoctorMick. What would be your view on pitching more yeast at this stage and seeing if that would bring the FG down? I went and bought another pack of yeast and some nutrients. If I done this would you recommend putting some...

    Stuck fermentation / under pitched?

I decided to try something a bit different with an Evil Dog DIPA kit. I made a hop tea and added it to the wort (I've done this before and had good success) I thought I'd try different yeast - White labs wlp001. Everything was going great fermentation started quickly so I just left it for 3...

    Best commercial beer

I like the fact that it's now more accessible to the masses. More people trying it and wondering how they have lived so long drinking pissy fizzy dish water. It's also appearing in more pubs too which is great news. Still love making my own beer though.

    Ideas for improving a kit

I'm two weeks into an experiment with a kit, trying differnt yeast and made a hop tea that I added to the wort. It will then be dry hopped to within an inch of its life! I done one similar but used the yeast that came with the kit, hop tea/dry hop etc, and added some isometric bittering hops at...

    Evil dog IPA

Well my second batch of evil dog turned 3 weeks old on friday, so Ive had a few chillin in the fridge. I popped on last night and reckon it could may have a wee bit longer to go carbonation wise and maturing, but as it is right now.......holy **** its good. I kinda of went of a recipe for...

    Evil dog IPA

I kinda understand the chemistry of the hopping with the oils giving aroma etc. But how do these disappearing they are oil based and no where to escape once bottled. I read a lot about the aroma disappearing the longer it's in the bottle being conditioned, so how does this happen?

    Evil dog IPA

It was bottled after being batch primed and left in a cupboard at a pretty steady 21 for 5 weeks ,it also fermented in same area at same temp. I've just taken a bottle which has been in the fridge for the last two weeks and I must admit there's a bit of a difference in a good way, the last...

    Evil dog IPA

I did this as my first kit and followed instructions to the letter. After leaving it for 3 weeks, I moved it to fridge to condition for another few weeks. It's tasted awful, no carbonation either (it was batch primed with 90 grams) Alot of people saying this needs months to condition, does this...

Had version 2 and didn't think that much of it. Thought the version 3 was better, but don't see what all the hype is about
