Hello brew friends!
I've finished off my second batch of beer and got round to drinking a third of what I made. The result is good enough (for now) but I had two queries.
Firstly - there is quite a bit of sediment at the bottom of each bottle. I only use one bucket for before I bottle my...
Hi guys,
Just done my second brew after my first one failed. (Looked like a contamination issue) I didn't take/didn't fully understand the gravity readings last time. I have just taken my readings on this new batch and the approximate sugar per litre was 143 with the alcohol potential 7.5%...
So this first batch has just been poured down the drain! (I had to have a moments silence prior to the deed!). The beer kept its awful aftertaste which tasted like sour washing up liquid, will this be because I killed the yeast off in the first stage? The water was too hot I added the yeast.

So i have made my first beer (Coopers Canadian Blonde) I have done 2 week fermentation process and I plan on 2 weeks carbonation period before putting in the fridge to chill for a few weeks.
I gave into temptation and got a bottle in the fridge to taste test. I was only on day 6 of the...
So I have done my first home brew. I made a coopers Canadian lager without adding anything. I have done the first two week fermentation stage and I have put into bottles for the conditioning stage. Even though I plan to leave it to condition for 2 weeks I gave into temptation and cracked one...
Cheers guys. I checked first thing this morning and it is still at the 20 mark and not creeping down to 18/16 which is all good! That's a great idea! I have a spare dressing gown I never use so I'll be putting that on it tonight! ðŸËÅ

These problems i've faced isn't giving me high hopes for...
