I would probably try and create your recipe around full cans of extract, so in Brewfather enter 2 full cans worth of extract (normally 3kg - 2x 1.5kg if you're using something like Muntons un-hopped extract) and adjust the batch size until you reach your desired final ABV.
e.g.
3kg Muntons...
That's great. It's my daughter's b'day this weekend so won't be able to make this one, but I'm definitely interested in joining a future meeting if that's OK. I'm only down the road in Gravesend. Is this usually the best place to find out what's going on and when?
Do you guys still meet up for the home brew club? I tried clicking the link to the website, but it looks like the page doesn't exist any more and I can't see any mention of the club elsewhere on the site. I'd be interested in coming along if you still meet. Cheers!
If that's the stated range then brewing much below that may cause the yeast to stall. A degree or two may be OK, but I'd stick to the recommendations if you can.
Oh oops sorry about that. Someone else pointed this out. I'm still trying to get to grips with the video editing so I'm trying to sort that out. Cheers anyway!
I made this recently and turned out really nice. I wanted to experiment with the new Muntons Craft Your Own extracts so planned this as a US style pale ale. It turned out a lttle darker than expected so ended up more of an amber ale, but nonetheless it was delicious and I will definitely brew it...
I adapted this recipe to brew with extract and it turned out fantastic, so thought I'd share my extract version:
1 x Muntons Craft Your Own Maris Otter LME 1.5K
1KG Light DME
220g Light Brown Sugar
220g Light Crystal Malt
200g Dextrin malt or Carapils
140g Chocolate Malt
100g Dextrose (Corn...
You could also steep some chocolate malt. I did this with a coopers stout kit and it turned out very nice indeed.
I put a video up on YouTube if you're interested:

Thanks for your reply. Yeah it really does seem to be a guessing game with Muntons products specs - crazy really as it doesn't exactly encourage people to use them as they have no idea how to apply them. I'm only brewing with the hopped DME as I got it for £1 a 500g pack and the skinflint in me...
