    Corny Keg Gas

There doesn’t appear to be a standard rate across the country. I think you have to take whatever you can find, especially if you want local. We may all have to move to Grimlestbottom under the Rye to get the best deals. I seam to remember that my bottle is 10kg. It’s still much cheaper than the...

    Corny Keg Gas

I just dug out an email I had from them, but about a year ago. “For home use we sell you the bottle full for £60 inc vat and then every time you bring it back for a refill it would be £24 inc vat” Hope it works out for you. Cheers

    Corny Keg Gas

I got my CO2 from their depot in Shrewsbury, and it looks like they cover Worcestershire. You have to buy a full bottle and then pay just for the refill as needed. https://www.mandmgases.com/

    Co2 gauge question

Good afternoon I’ve made the move to corny kegs, having used Rotokegs for 20 years. I’ve started with a kit from Norm, via Ebay and I’m wondering if anyone else has bought this? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F223469773329 However, I am a bit...

    Splitting a mash

Good afternoon Does anyone have a good system for splitting a mash into two to try two different hops for Smash beers? Or am I better just doing two different brews? Thanks for looking and any comments are most welcome. Cheers Howard

    Calling all Klarstein Owners.

That’s exactly what I thought of doing, using Stainless steel cap head bolts. Cheers

    Calling all Klarstein Owners.

I tried using the grain basket for hops ( a mixture of leaf and pellets) yesterday and it worked a treat. I did a full boil up to the max line (25 litres) and kept the grain basket draining ring in place. All the leaf stayed in the basket and there was some trub on the kettle bottom after...

    Calling all Klarstein Owners.

Thanks for the reply Petrolhead. I’ll give it a try when I do my next brew and report back.

    Calling all Klarstein Owners.

Hi A quick question for petrolhead. How well does the grain basket work as a hop spider? Does it still get to a rolling boil? I’ve done 3 brews using just pellets and it worked well just having the hops loose, but I’ve had a nightmare today using a mixture of full hops and pellets, despite...

    Corny kegs question

Thank you all for the replies. I’ve ordered a few bits and will hopefully fit it all together before the summer starts. Cheers

    Corny kegs question

Good afternoon all After many years of using Rotokegs ( yes, the original Rotokegs, although a bit like triggers broom now ) I’m going the swap to Corny kegs mainly for space saving reasons. I do, however have a few questions. Are there “standard” tube and fitting sizes for the beer and air...

    Installing a beer tap

Clint - I didn’t think I was so transparent but yep, draught pickled onions is the future. MyQul - thanks for the welcome. The other end is a cannonball keg from Beerhawk, 6.6 litre and a S30 valve to get the CO2 in.

    Installing a beer tap

Image by HowardB posted Jun 30, 2018 at 8:26 PMThis is my set up. Different tap, but you’d want something similar. On your tap the wood would go where the black O ring is.
