    Coopers Toucan

I shall do just that! I'm now planning on dry hopping this with Saaz after doing some reading and from your recommendation. What would the best way to go about this be? Could a hop tea still work? Seeing differing ideas and opinions. I have a homebrew shop nearby I can buy from, which means I...

    Coopers Toucan

Thanks for the replies. As always terrym your insight is much obliged! Indeed, perhaps having only brewed with the woodfordes yeast this is somewhat of a surprise. If the fermentation is finished in the next day I'll probably leave it for 10 in total before bottling. Also, discovered the...

    Coopers Toucan

So on Sunday I started a toucan brew, using a can of Coopers APA and Coopers Lager. I'm still endeavouring to make a lager-ish style session beer, and after making a Woodfordes Sundew with LME (It was still a bit much to session) I decided to give this a try. A few people on here had recommended...

    What next?

Thats exactly what went wrong. Well, perhaps that and one or two other things. I added a kilo of brewing sugar 5 days in after realising a one can kit wouln't produce much abv. So it tasted horrible, dreadful sickly sweet taste even after months in the bottle. An after brewing 40 pints of the...

    What next?

    What next?

Hi all! Just coming to the end of my third go at brewing! I bought the Woodfordes Wherry kit a few weeks ago and plan on bottling it Thursday. My plan is to batch prime in my secondary FV then bottle from there as it has a tap unlike my current one. I plan on cleaning out my secondary FV...

    First brew - coopers lager

Decided to add 1kg brewing sugar in 2L of boiled water to the FV. Ensured everything was sterilised and took care pouring the solution in to ensure minimal air was introduced. Took another sample and will test this density. Would I be right in assuming that this density minus my new final...

    First brew - coopers lager

Thanks for all of your replies! There were no instructions with the kit, I used the general instructions found online. Which had no mention of extra fermentables! I'm not sure whether to add sugar now or just bottle this batch after fining.

    First brew - coopers lager

I added the tin of malt/hop extract + 50g brewing sugar and the total volume was 23L. I was sure I had mixed it well but like I said I had no hydrometer. I have access to the instruments so may as well use them. Far more accurate, but hydrometers definitely suitable for this application...

    First brew - coopers lager

Hi! Have a question, I started my brew a week ago using coopers lager kit(original series I think). I didn't buy a hydrometer because I have access to digital densitometers which are far more accurate, so I took a sample of my wort after it was made upto 23L and mixed, just before I pitched...
