Talk to me about turbo yeast

Thanks to you all for that information. I am now a lot more educated. There’s more to this brewing lark than meets the eye. I think I will pick up a heater ( any recommendations please?), and stick with standard yeast when I can get hold of some, just for the time being.

Talk to me about turbo yeast

It's a good while since I dropped by,so first, hello! My brewing is basically from kits ( not as advanced as some of you chaps),wine and beer. I also make fruit wines and WOW.This past few months I have been making what you guys call a 'sugar wash'. It is a recipe from Andy Hamilton's ' Booze...

I have 10 gallons of elderberry/blackberry to rack. Then 5 gallons of wilko medium dry red. I get on well with that. Then I want to start some more...

    Red WOW

Now there is a plan! Where would I get oak chops from?

    Red WOW

Thanks for all that. It has given me food for thought.

    Red WOW

I hope this doesn't come across as a dopey question. I have made plenty of WOW this year, as per the 'how to' here. What ingredients could I use to make a red version please.

    Whats everyone drinking?

Tonight will be drinking Coopers Australian Lager(SWMBO) and me, Coopers Bitter. Both rather good. We also have on the go for a non-beer drinking friend, Wilko Fruity Pinot Grigio. Rather pleasant that one.

    First turbo cider

I bottled my first ever TC a couple of months ago. It was in bulk storage two months before that. Tried a bottle last night, bang- on!

    De-gassing Wilko's wine.

No, cos I am moving the bottles to their final home any way. But that is my take on it.

    De-gassing Wilko's wine.

I don't bother degassing these kits. When I bottle it I screw the cap on, shake it, release the cap, tighten and repeat. That is it. I try to cut handling time as much as possible-shades of work there!

    High street spree

Now I like our town centre. But, I do go for what I WANT. I don't do browsing. There is a Wilko, Poundland, fishing tackle shop, cycle shop , a gun shop (can you tell my other hobbies) and clothes shops a bloke might need. And I can be in-out-don't look back. Bloke shopping at it's best!

    Botched TC

Made up another Turbo Cider on Monday. Only problem was I put in 2 litres AJ. And by accident(cos the packs were the same colour!!!) I put in 2litres of White Grape Juice. Thing is it is fermenting like Billy-o. Anyone else done this?
