Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

Another week wait so another bottle. Carbonation is fierce to begin with & it retains a good head. Still not sure about the taste but it's less offensive with age. My wife seemed to like it apart from the fizziness. Xmas party next week so will see how much gets drunk

Had my first bottle tonight after 2 weeks in the bottle. Nice carbonation & head, still has the taste of pineapple cubes but not too bad. All bottles now going out of the house to the garage & I expect the tastes to mature until Xmas, especially after what people here & other forums say. I do...

I did the mug thing for the hops and was underwhelmed by the aroma when bottling. Gratz on the baby by the way :)

Bottled it last night. Smelt very sweet & fruity, probably the ester smell others have mentioned. I just hope it settles down in the bottle. Also very cloudy but hoping that will also settle when I move it out to the cold for conditioning

there is still a head on this after 18 days, I was hoping to bottle this weekend and still need to add the hops 2 days before bottling. Should I just wait for this to subside or skim off the head, take a reading and hope its finished fermenting?

day 12 now, the Krausen is still on the top. Do I need to wait for this to drop before I start taking gravity readings? I'm not using an airlock so no way to see if the bubbles are still coming up.

    Tomorrows APA

The power of most apa's I love comes from the dry hopping. Don't really know my hops but most bottles seem to say similar to those mentioned by Dads_ale

Thanks LordVauban, basically keep it simple. It's been in the fv 6 days and I have to stop myself opening up to take a look. I need to stay patient

Doing this as my first kit and got a question about the hop timing. Instructions says 2days, should I do that in the primary fv or the the one I'll be using for bottling? If the 2nd, then should I add the priming sugar for bottling after the 2 days?
