Well, a few weeks have passed and I am sat watching Rick Stein whilst drinking my Elderflower Wheatbeer, its surprisingly great, just enough elderflower to give it a slightly savoury rather than flowery flavour. its quite strong though ! very pleased with the results seeing as its just a wilkos...
I think I am going to add it as elderflower tea, I have also changed the beer and am going to add it to a wheat beer kit, I think it would be more suited to that
I have some elderflower left after making some elderflower champagne, not enough for another batch but I thought rather than waste them I would put them in with one of my wilko pale ale kits.
I would appreciate on suggestions regarding the best time to add them. I am thinking of adding at the...
Went into Wilko's Spalding today, they have special offers on the beer kits, £2 off standard kits bringing them down to £10 and £3 off the premium kits bringing them down to £13 pounds, I bought a premium and a standard
I transferred to my Cornelius keg yesterday, it had settled beautifully clear in the FV with a nice solid sediment that didn't get disturbed when I transferred. I currently have 10-15 psi of c02 sat on it and I am trying to promise myself to leave it untouched for at least 2 more weeks - however...
I do have another keg, but the opening is damaged rather than the lid so even with a new o-ring and a bit of gas it doesn't seal - so that will be getting weighed in
These seem very cheap on ebay, too good to be true?

I just made up my latest wilko kit (cerveza lager) I couldn't find my thermometer so used my calibrated thumb to test the temperature - and decided that I knew best and that the tepid feel of the beer meant I was at about 20 centigrade - about 20 seconds after pitching the wife rocked up holding...
I spent some time "residential" at Combat stress in Surrey - well done to your lad because a well trained mental health person can save just as many lives as a heart surgeon, always remember that.
im making this kit tomorrow and like you will be using light DME and maybe some beer enhancer - but I am aiming for a Cerveza that I can drink icy cold in the garden
I bought one of these wilko cerveza kits today to have a light cold summer drink, I bought some light DME as well just to see how that works compared to my previous brews where I just used normal granulated sugar.
I also have some beer enhancer (mix of DME and dextrose) should I go all in on the...
quick update, the IPA has been in the corny keg for just over a week and the keg sat in a fermentation bin full of water - hallelujah, it has cleared, it now smells like beer should and its almost there in terms of carbonation.... oh and it tastes good too!
Obviously I knew best, the advice and data online said to carbonate at 10-12psi for 2 weeks at a set temperature, so being a know it all I chilled it even cooler and put 25-30psi of Co2 in the keg. Result = I am drinking shaving foam, having to pour half a pint into a pint glass and put it into...
