    Low Efficiency using Grainfather

I'll try the whisking thing, worth a shot. The temp is bang on as far as I can tell (using GF, seems to be steady throughout the mash). In East Sussex the water is quite hard, right enough, so I'll look into that as well Lord C

    Sterilising Query

As I ramp up my home brewing I'm burning through the sterilisation consumables. I currently use VWP 400g, but I wonder if anyone has any recommendations as to what might be better/cheaper/larger quantities, and where I can get hold of it at the best price? Thanks in advance Lord C

    Low Efficiency using Grainfather

Hello all, I'm on to brew number 10 using my Grainfather kit, and all in all I'm very happy. Except... I'm getting poor extraction efficiency, pretty much every time. I stir the grain well when adding to the mash, try to control the rate so it's nice and even, but when I sparge it runs...

    Grainfather

    Question about Priming

Thanks everyone - I have done exactly that and will check in on it again in the next couple of weeks. I'm glad I actually mixed some with and without as I'd have wondered what the hell I'd done wrong if I hadn't primed any of them!

    Question about Priming

Hello all, I recently brewed a Kona Fire Rock clone recipe and bottled without priming - the recipe gave no instruction on this. I did prime 8 bottles out of the 40 with a single Coopers priming tab though, by way of experiement. It's come to the day of judgement now, and I have to say...

    Grainfather.

Thanks for the suggestion DrMick - will give that a go next time around. I'm also going for whole hop v pellets.

    Grainfather.

Hello everyone, I've started my home brewing career by jumping straight in at the deep-end and buying a grandfather. I've done two runs so far, and what I will say is that pellet hops tend to clog the filter on the pump. Beyond that, its and incredibly easy piece of kit to use and clean. I...
