    Beer Line clamp

Hey fellas, I've got a 5/16 beer line which hasn't got a clamp on the barb of the disconnect (i have no idea why that's the case because I set it up !). Anyhow hooked a brew up to it yesterday and needless to say a couple of hours later there's tell tale beer spillage in the bottom of the...

Hey Fellas, once my 19l Corny keg is empty I rinse it out with bleach solution then also run some bleach solution through the beer line, a relatively weak solution in truth. when i come to add a beer line to a keg of new beer i make up some sanitising solution in a spare keg pressure it up and...

    Sodium percarbonate..

Hey Mark I use BrewSafe brand sodium percarbonate which cost a load more per kilo than the Astonish you've found - although i did think it was reasonably priced from memory compared to Star San. I use my Brewsafe sanitiser at a rate of 5g per litre, what dilution are you intending to use your...

Best Star SAN Alternative including all new Chemsan

Hey fellas, for cost saving I was interested in the bleach / vinegar solution but I seem to recall it being said it had to be the old fashioned thin bleach and not the thick stuff that's in all our supermarkets these days - is that true or doesn't it make a difference ?

    Calcium content in brew water.

Hi Steve yeh 44.75 was the final reading of the brew liquor for Alkalinity before adding the grain in fact the readings were Alk 44.75, Ca 200 and PH 5.5, Alk and Ca were tested using Salifert Kits and PH on a digital meter. This was after adding 35ml AMS, 7.5g Gypsum, and 1 Campden tablet for...

    Calcium content in brew water.

Hi Steve I do have the alkalinity test and i use AMS at around 30 - 35 ml for a 28l full mash to get me to the desired level. Last brew was reading 44.75 - going to get Murphy & Sons to do a proper analysis for me as I'm obviously still confused or even a bit thick ! asad1asad1
