Thanks for all the suggestions. I think its definitely a jockey box I need to assemble.
We don't want to have a generator, as even a quite one would be noticeable on the small site.
Hiring a bar is a fall back option, but we're on a very tight budget, and we're very keen on it being a...
Looks good, but as above I'd go for a more neutral bittering hop like Magnum.
Your's is very similar to the one I'll be brewing for my wedding. I love using Vienna or Munich in my english ales.
Marris Otter
8% Vienna
8% Wheat Malt
7% Carmalt (for a little colour and sweetness)
Hops are...
The cooler may be a bit much to build, but wrapping the kegs in wet towels couldn't hurt, they are easy to refresh as well.
We've been told we can put som ice in the site owner's freezer, but it would be loads.
I doubt I'll be able to chill the kegs down as I arrive on site the day before. Definitely no hole digging :) it's a glamping campsite not just a field.
I did think about putting the kegs into buckets of ice, but thought it would last very long on a hot day, and a closed cool box for the lines...
I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas, suggestions or improvements that can help me out with my keg/tap setup I'm building.
We're having a wedding party at the end of July on a campsite so I need a way to cool my beer down when serving it from kegs/taps. The biggest hurdle is that it's in a...
Hop additions are always show as time remaining in the boil.
So the "Boil 60 min" goes in as soon as you reach boiling point, as you said.
The "Boil 45min" addition goes in 15 mins later, when you have 45 mins of boil time remaining.
The 15 min addition goes in 30 mins after this when there...
Mine was supposed to be an ESB, but my efficiency was rubbish and so is more of an Extra Average Bitter, but am definietly getting a lot of fruitiness which is what I was looking for .
Nicely written guide Steve.
My top tip: When you're recirculating hot wort through the chiller, make sure the wort out tube is securely aimed back into the GF. Don't leave it running and leave the room, in case it falls out and pumps your entire batch all over the floor. aheadbutt
How did this turn out Baron? I've got a bitter about to be kegged in which I used a whopping 300g. Just had a taste and it's definitely got a bit raisin flavour.
The first 2 went very smoothly, probably helped by the endless YouTube videos I watched while I waited to order one. Back to the basics for the next one I think, keep it simple.
