    Your all time favourite beer

mines has to be the pint of guiness in the East Pier pub in Howth, few miles outside Dublin, followed with a close second The Lord Mayors in Swords, just outside Dublin...Dublin Airport also does a decent pint of Guiness too...

    Turbo cider?

I think he's referring to the Sainsbury's offer just now (but your right the math is still wrong). 2 x 4 pack of apple juice for £5, meaning if you buy the offer 3 times you'll spend £15 for 24 litres of apple juice. Not a bad offer, I'd use 20 litres for TC and keep the remaining 4 litres...

    Thomas Coopers pilsner

i've never brewed it but i would follow the instructions anyhows i would just batch prime at the rate of 8g per litre, so i'm guessing you have 23 litres, so when primary fermentation has completed your looking at 184g (heat sugar in a pot of boiling water to a syrup, allow to cool, add to the...

    25l Cinnamon & Vanilla Mead

one vanilla pod will set you back about 2 or 3 quid and i believe that the flavouring from essence dissapears quickly in a brew 0 not my own experience but i have read on forums also, i have had strange bits floating at the top of my mead - i'm just kinda guessing this is ok and i'll get rid of...

    John Smiths

coopers ale sounds like a good idea, they both used to drink 70' in years gone by but the quality seemed to change when it moved south so ended up on john smiths :hmm: i think the coopers real ale sounds like a good idea and maybe one i'd drink too, don't think they'll go for a straight bitter

    Cars - age v. mileage?

Not sure if this helps but I have a company car, 3 1/2 years old and 102k on the clock. Its a Vuxhall and feels like a 10 year old car, indeed the quality of the drive deterioated quickly after 30k miles. Other Company Car drivers I know have went for more premium brands such as BMW, Audi etc...

My Mead appears to have fermented out and cleared super fast

I've done a lot of googling and i think i've answered my own question! Basically, its not a problem if it ferments out fast, which is basically down to the yeast i used and the fact that i added yeast nutrient. However, apparently fast fermentation of mead produces an 'nutrient off-flavour'...

My Mead appears to have fermented out and cleared super fast

After two weeks it has cleared! I can read newspaper print behind the bottles - I've looked up images online and it seems to be at the stage it should be at 3 Months The only difference is I've used Youngs Super Wine Yeast with Yeast Nutrient so I had much more vigourous fermentation than...

    Return to Mead making

just checked in on my mead after 2 weeks in the DJ - i knew fermentations had slowed to an almost stop a few days ago but was quite surprised to see that it had started to clear significantly i had used youngs super wine yeast with yeast nutrient i assume i still carry on leaving it alone...
