Might be a stupid question, but are you chilling the beers before opening? Warm beer is much more likely to gush. What was the finishing gravity of the beer?

Ok thanks to @gingerneil the problem is solved... Turns out a macbook charger was the issue, they are 'smart' chargers and won't work for the ispindel battery. Got a cheap charger from the garage and now it's charging up happily.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it is the correct one, as it is the one at the top of the unit by the on/off switch. I had it set to 900 seconds. Then it started reporting only every hour (I hadn't changed any settings), then only reporting gravity not temperature, then it stopped. Is that what happens...

Yeah thanks, I can't log in, it's completely dead :( It was never more than 3.51 I didn't think to check that it was charging up.

Are you sure that's not the hop oils from the dry hops? I've had that before and it freaked me out!

I like mine quite dry, so I think I only put 10 tsp in a minikeg of 5 litres. Take a glass and add it till you are happy, then scale that up to the batch.
