Heya folks,
I've brewed a batch of Saison that I'm really not convinced is going to turn out well, so in an effort to at least save a bit of admin time I'm wondering if I can find some large bottles.
Anyone got any experience of bottling in large glass or plastic bottles?
Cheers,
Rick
Oh yeah update, in case anyone stumbles across this thread on the future.
The Hopcat didn't work when it arrived, the thermometer was broken. Took a lot of chasing to get it collected. I ended up going for the robobrew on the end too. Feels sturdier and has worked fine.
How big is your batch size? Sounds small, when I used to do 3.7 litre batches I had a big pan (15 litres) and smaller one (10 liters).
Was good enough for that batch size.
Hey all!
Just wondering if anyone has any great ideas for keeping/covering your brew kit?
I've got a Hopcat 65l on the way, and a 30l hot water urn that I'll store in the shed and just want to keep the dust off really. I'm sure there's a great hack out there but I'm out of ideas after...
I ordered the 65l version a few weeks ago, they emailed to say it was on a ship from China so I'm patiently checking it's location every 3 hours 😂
It's quite an upgrade from the Brooklyn brew kit I have been using.
@Coomzy where did you get your malt from?
I went for the 65l Hopcat, I really wanted the smaller one but the 65 was the going to be faster delivery. 😂🙈
I chatted with them a little and got the sense they're a 1 man band. So might have support issues down the line, but that was probably grainfather once upon a time too!
Nice! Is this your first brew system? Just wondering if you have anything to compare it to.
I'm looking to buy my first and think I'll go for the Hopcat or robobrew.
Isn't the recirculation supposed to remove the need to stir?
They seem largely the same, although Hopcat claim their latest model is designed exclusively for them. There seems more positive press about the robobrew too, the feeling I get is that they're a more trusted brand.
