    Muntons yeast replacements

Hi all, I have 2 x Muntons Hand Crafted kits on their way to me (Winter warmer and American IPA) I haven't tried any of the Muntons kits before, but have read some poor reviews of their standard/included yeasts Any recommendations for yeast replacements on these specific kits? Cheers Alan

    Muntons Flagship Amber hop schedule

Hi guys I’m about to do one of these Flagship kits for the first time and a general query re the hops.. The instructions say to just put them into the wort directly (at Phase 2) and then use the provided mesh bag as a filter for your syphon. Surely it would just be easier to use the bag as a hop...

    Moving to BIAB / AG

Thanks everyone for the insights. Its not as clear-cut as I had hoped, but it would seem the consensus is to go the AIO route! So a BrewMonk will probably be coming home in the coming months :-)

    Moving to BIAB / AG

@the baron thanks for that interesting thought - never occured me to embrace the seasons in that way with yeast. Ive never tried kveik yet, but its on my to-do-list. Here, its 20c-25c+ in summer and anyting down to -20 in winter in southern Finland :-) . My store room (where I brew is heated...

    Moving to BIAB / AG

Hi guys.... advise needed please Considering going BIAB or straight to an AIO setup. Have been looking at the the BrewMonk 30L AIO gear, but my fermentation kit is still also quite basic, the usual plastic fermentors etc. However Ive also been reading a lot on investing in the 'cold side' of...

    Head space for glass bottles?

Hi folks... Probably not the right section for this Q? About to bottle a Brewferm Strong Blonde... as its 'strong' i opted for glass 330ml fliptops, as all my PET bottles are 500ml which it too much for a strong beer :-) .... asking for trouble! Ive never used glass ones before - how much head...

    Stout/Porter tips

Thanks for all the suggestions guys - I’d love to try a Young’s kit , but they are not sold here (Finland) unfortunately.. but I have a FV question now. My smaller FV with airlock is full at present (Brewferm Stromg Blonde) so I’d need to use my large Coopers one like in the photo. The earlier...

    Massive Lager Head

Not that this helps with the massivehead issue, but on the priming topic i've tried the drops, those little measured teaspoons and batch priming and to be honest batch gives the best result every time.... easiest way to control your sugar content exactly and frankly the easiest to do also....

Hi guys I have an empty FV just begging to be filled again :-) This time I thought id try a stout as I have yet to do one. Options are a little bit limited at the moment in my LHBS, but the following is what I have to choose from - any tips from anyone on a good one to go for or one to avoid...
