    Co2 notts/Sheffield

Does anyone know a supplier in this area? I was getting it from a local hydro shop for £17 a refill but they’ve been struggling to get it reliably lately and understandably I’m at the back of the queue as I don’t really make them any money as that’s all I buy from there and keep the bottle for 6...

    Replacing Grainfather thermometer

The controller won’t work doing that.

    Replacing Grainfather thermometer

I’ve buggered the cable coming out of the controller. It still works but it’s knackered. I’d rather not have to buy a new controller just for the thermometer. Is it replaceable? I’m handy with a soldering iron. I know I can’t buy a direct replacement but thermometers aren’t all totally different...

    Ooni Pizza ovens

I’ve got the pellet Ooni and my mate bought that new gas one. It’s miles more useful and far bigger. I’d get the gas one all day long. It uses barely any gas for a few pizzas. The pellet one works fine but it takes a fair bit of looking after to run it for a while. Constantly filling it up and...

    Spectrum Liquid hops

It was mostly user error I suspect. I’m sure they do what they say when you get the hang of how to use them.

    Spectrum Liquid hops

well, defo don’t keg hop with them! They just sank to the bottom and ruined the beer for at least the first third. I haven’t bothered since those 2 brews. They are just a PITA to dissolve and get into the beer. They taste good tho when you manage it.

    Spectrum Liquid hops

You boil the water first to get rid of the o2.

    Spectrum Liquid hops

I've recently used them. I've not kegged the beer yet so can't really say much about the flavour. But I will say that they are a pain in the **** to get into the beer! Suggesting they are soluble in cold beer is rediculous. I had to mix them with warm water and even then they didn't easily...

    Hop plants/rhizomes - growing report

Cascade and Chinook gone bonkers. Love the look of hop vines, very pretty.

Anyone mad enough to grow their own hops?

Aye, it's hops on the right too. They grow up a 12ft metal pole and then from that across string to the top of a big elder. It's my allotment and it's pretty much the only shade on the plot. In all honesty i I get way too many for brewing. I dry them and decorate my shed on the left which has a...

    Vegan finings.

Afternoon, I've not fined a beer in some time, well cold side at least. I'm not vegan personally but I have some guests imminent that are. And having just acquired a beer engine I promised to l them some cask ale as they very rarely get the chance to drink it. I've knocked up a American pale...

Clean and fresh hop taste - how?

On the HSA then if the main problem is premature staling then that defo isnt gonna be an issue with my really hoppy ones. The kegs are drank in 2-3 weeks tops. I have brewed with incognito and found it a little unusual and a real pain to clean off my GF. I did a beer with just flex for...

Clean and fresh hop taste - how?

Aye I treat my water based on the grainfather app water calculatoe. I had it tested about a year back but quite how accurate that report is now is anyone's guess. To clarify when I say bright I mean the taste of the hops . Not the appearence (sorry I know bright means bright). They are mostly...

Clean and fresh hop taste - how?

I've been brewing for a quite a while, maybe 200 all grain brews. Tend to stick to hop forward beers, saisons and occasional foreys into some German styles. And the odd stout as my missus likes them. One thing that I constantly notice when drinking hop forward beers from the top breweries is...
