It looks to me as if the yeast has settled out at the bottom, and you have fruit pulp floating on top.
Try 'swirling' it, and see if the pulp settles out.
I've just tasted a batch of Richard's Red I finished a month ago, and it's pretty good. I made it with Merlot Grape Juice,so it wasn't that cheap; but I only like light reds, so it suits me.
if you look on homewinemaking.co.uk there's a recipe for 'Richards Red'. It's similar to WOW, in that it uses 3L RGJ + a small can of RGC. I've made it using Welch's Purple, and it was very nice. I've just got some of the Waitrose Merlot to try it with.
If you're using solids (fruit, vegetables etc) start them off in a bin; but if it's just juices a demijohn is fine.
I'm fairly new to this game, but I've been making juice wines for a couple of years with no problems.
LewisA; I found some black Cherry Concentrate in Holland and Barrett yesterday; it costs £11.95 for 500 mL, but at the moment they've got a 'penny sale' on, so you can get 2 for £11.96
