Where do you guys get your recipes?

Dream them up mostly. If I haven't brewed a style before, I'll get a few ideas from seeing examples from around the web. Otherwise, I don't think you can do much better than BeerSmith2 for recipe formulation. This program makes it so easy to get your bitterness, color, and ABV into range.

    Fermentation Fridge Concept

Bloops per minute (bpm)... I love it. Okay, on the road now. To the OP, I'm very excited to see what you decided on. I think moving air into the chambers will work well but if you decided on circulating water or glycol like I did, there is definitely a transfer of heat that takes place and...

    Fermentation Fridge Concept

I went a little crazy with it, I admit! Wife is yelling at me because we are suppose to be leaving for the beach. I'll give a few more details of the different decisions I made when I can get on next. My buddy went with insulation twice as thick as mine on his chamber.

My BIAB brewday with lots of pictures

you got it. Ya that little double valve thingy works pretty well. The carbon filter side gives me water whenever I need it and then the chiller goes on later in the process.

My BIAB brewday with lots of pictures

yeah, I was suprised too. The brewery is only about 20 minutes from my house in Frederick, MD and I do like many of their other beers. I think this one is new. It's called Atlantic Lager and is a basic 4.7% but has a wierd aftertase for a lager. Maybe I got a bad batch. :wha: Thanks for...

My BIAB brewday with lots of pictures

Thanks guys. Good news--gave em a few samples of homebrew, then we had a pint of some american lager from a brewery around here called Flying Dog which was not very good (won't be buying that again) and they went right back to the homebrew pale ale. Had fun hanging out for a few hours before...

My BIAB brewday with lots of pictures

Hey all, US brewer here. I'm new to the forum and saw this thread. Here's my typical brewday: http://www.brewgeeks.com/a-biab-brewday-tknice.html Oh, on a side note, my 10 yr old boy is in a soccer camp and a few of his coaches came over from England. They needed a place to stay so my...

stuff that's bothering me about my twelfth brew so far

I know I suggested that you don't use the mushrooms but love that you went all out and carefully brewed with them anyway. Well done. What kind of flavor contribution do you think they add (if any)?

Thanks! I just noticed the gravity reading instead of a post count. That's great haha.

    Hey Guys

Hi from across the water. I've been brewing for a few years now and have settled into the BIAB (brew in a bag) method of all-grain brewing. Love brewing all styles of beer and learning people's tricks from around the world. Cheers all! -TK

stuff that's bothering me about my twelfth brew so far

Hey Buzzing.. so happy you brewed this and it sounds like it turned out pretty good! I definitely added it to my list of beers to brew but lately I've been focusing more on getting all of my "house" beers dialed in.
