Is that a Keg King one?

They are pretty ****. The gauge is upside down, the clear cover falls off all time too.
I'm glad you feel the same and I just didn't get a dodgy one.. definitely will buy another kegland one when that one gives up. Mine is showing 7psi on the dial but doesn't seem to let any out when you lossen it 🤷🏼

Likewise, there seems to be zero adjustment. Did yours have a keyring thing? Mine doesn't, but I'm sure that's am integral part of the design. I think you can swap out for a pre-made 10/15psi etc PRV so may give that a go.

I have the similar Kegland G2 or whatever it's called, and that is much better as gauge isn't useless, but hqve bought a Blowtie for my fermenter and much happier with that.

Still use the Spundy for transfers and it works for that as doesn't need to be too precise.

No key ring ..just some black screw that doesn't really do much once it gets down to lower psi..I'm just using it to keep a few psi on my Brett beer that's conditioning in a keg before I bottle it.

Ha, I'm using it on my mixed ferm keg that I've keg conditioned - just screwed it up closed so I know when it's done carbonating.

The other designs have the ring, and it seems to need that tension to release. Blowtie kit was really cheap from TMM and faultless so far

Kegged the Belgian pale with Motueka and Celeia, tasted as planned with light carbonation, that's in the conditioning chamber until a spot comes free

Last weekend brewed a London porter, it's partially based on the 1897 fullers recipe . I didn't have one of the crystals so used a smaller percentage of DRC . Yeast was WLP013 as I had got the yeast in for another five points Bitter clone in a few weeks. I managed to freeze 8 tubes of the yeast so I have it on hand for a few other styles.

Update on American Amber tasting. I'm liking the hop character..still hazy which I would prefer if it wasn't. The balance of the bitterness is off for me. I went lower on IBU, trying to be closer to style but the beer ended up being stronger than planned so it feels lacking in the bitterness for me..nice enough but needs more IBU to balance at this ABV

How did you freeze the yeast. Did you make a starter and split it. Or use a yeast cake. I am considering another fridge to condition my Beers. I end up drinking then before they are ready, typically they hit the mark on the last few pints ☹️

I made a starter from the pouch for 200b cells and then took half for freezing and then rebuilt the other back up for the brew that week.
The freezing method was from https://brulosophy.com/2023/10/12/the-brulosophy-show-how-to-freeze-yeast-and-keep-it-for-years/

I found the same when I had a 4 tap kegerator, if they were in there I just started drinking them.

When that one died I had another larder fridge which I made a 3 tap and then converted a medium chest freezer to lager and condition in at 1c.

Also having the extra space for 2-3 kegs to condition means I have needed to rush finishing a keg to free up the space or the keg( needed to buy a couple of extra kegs🤷🏼).

Dave what containers did you use to freeze the yeast. This is something I am really interested in doing. It would come in handy, plus you could swap yeast with other brewer's during a bottle swap.

Bought a bag of 16 or 20ml test tubes with screw lids. Ideal size for 6ml yeast slurry/6ml of cryo preserv

That was my next question. Did you use a pressure cooker
Worked out well as I could fit 2 of the 250ml jars in it so got enough cryo to do a few batches..think I have frozen 8 samples of 3 different strains so far and got enough cryo for another batch. My pressure cooker is one of the shallow types . If you have a taller one you could do bigger batches.
