    Fake News

Lots of moaning abut the Daily mail on another thread. I've no idea how accurate the article about travellers is but this steaming pile in the Guardian made me laugh this morning. I see one guy holding up both hands and two or three holding phones up to take pictures but try as I might, I can't...

One law for all. It's really that simple.

What if marriage was not recognised in law?

Mate of mine and his Mrs (both high earning business owners) got married for £840 quid last year didn't invite anyone, didn't tell anyone until three weeks latter and then threw a BBQ for family and friends.

What if marriage was not recognised in law?

Marriage is nothing more than a legal contract between two people in the eyes of the state. The state chooses to recognise that contract with several deals on the basis of social cohesion, which is why married couples get certain breaks in the eyes of the state and rights of married partners are...

    Your personal politics

Somebody didn't read the FAQ. As for Maggie..

    Your personal politics

A few people have posted their results on the test but nobody has really stated how they would describe their own politics. As I said at the get-go, I'm "a social liberal, a fiscal conservative and a civic nationalist" and after watching this video, I would have to accept the moniker "Far...

    Your personal politics

I'd describe myself as a social liberal, a fiscal conservative and a civic nationalist. I've just completed my third political compass test and the results have moved fractionally to the right of my earlier goes but are still very close to previous results: Slightly more libertarian than...

Are you proud to be English.

Conversely, I don't support the English football, rugby or cricket teams because I can't stand watching sport - but I am immensely proud of the contribution that this small island has made to global culture.

Are you proud to be English.

Football, Cricket, Rugby... Remind me again, where were those sports devised?

    X - offenders.

Surely you're not suggesting that private prisons have no interest in rehabilitating people because that might reduce reoffending and thus negatively impact profits. You cynical devil you.

    Juneberry Melomel 2017

I may have spoken too soon. Unless it' random seeds in the compost I appear to have signs of germination of both my Saskatoons and Pineapple Guava.

    X - offenders.

I'm not in favour of any sort of artificial weighting, anywhere for any reason because it smacks of a rather dark ideology that favours equality of outcome over equality of opportunity. Whether it's dome on race, gender, criminal history or whatever, it always results in some ordinary Joe who is...

Will you be watching the royal wedding?

I'm coming in on he train from Kidderminster and either doing Jewellery Quarter or Snow hill to Five Ways in the morning and Five Ways to Moore St in the evening. Back when I was running the martial arts club, I'd also be doing Five Ways to Dogpool Lane twice a week.

Will you be watching the royal wedding?

I use a bike to commute through Birmingham every day and my biggest concerns would be reduced visibility (particularly relative to drivers in raised cabs) and the inability to bail out. Might be interesting on more open roads though.

Santa Fe High School: Up to 10 dead in shooting

Compare and contrast the level of gun crime in the US with that in Western Europe, Japan, Australia or New Zealand. Easy access to guns comes at a price. Obviously, more guns = more gun crime but he US also has a much higher overall rate of homicide than any of the countries listed above...

Santa Fe High School: Up to 10 dead in shooting

Go and take yourself for a walk through Saltley, Alum Rock or Lozells and ask yourself whether you would want the locals to have less restricted access to guns. No doubt illegal guns are there in the hands of gangs or in caches such as the one found in Nordrhein-Westfalen but anything that...

Will you be watching the royal wedding?

On the positive side, Meghan is a wonderful role model for young womanhood. She's fit, healthy and not overweight. She's educated. Until very recently she worked for a living. She doesn't smoke. She isn't covered in more tattoos than a 60 year old Irish navy. She hasn't detailed every idiotic...
