    Fermented hot sauce

Just starting off a batch of hot sauce. Red chilli peppers, some dried ancho peppers, some ginger and garlic and a handful of blueberries from the Tesco yellow sticker section. Covered with a 3% brine solution. Will leave it until I remember to do something with it (probably around a month)...

    Malt miller premium CO2 regulator

Hi all, I assume I'm being particularly thick here, but does anybody use the MM premium regulator (https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/premium-co2-regulator/)? I've got one and being rather new to kegging I'm likely missing something, BUT does this reg not have a shut off valve incorporated...

CO2 tips ideas for the irregular user?

Hi all, a lot/most of what I'm brewing is sour beer that spends a fair old while in glass carboys with airlock. At the moment I'm 100% bottle conditioning (but likely to go corny at some point). I'd like to be able to purge the headspace of my FV with CO2 when I check gravity readings to reduce...

    UK suppliers of Lalvin S6U??

Hi all, My Google-fu power is weak today, so hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction. I was reading a Michael Tonsmeire (madfermentationist) article about using wine yeasts to brew beer (link: https://byo.com/article/brewing-with-wine-yeast/), in particular using Lalvin S6U as...

Hi all, I'm hoping to enter some competitions this year for the first time. Hopefully get some useful feedback on my brews. I suspect this has been asked before, but nothing came back on my search. Can you good folk flag up any couriers you've had success with in delivering bottles for...

    Recommendations: Ghent

Got a few work days in Ghent city centre coming soon. Any good beer spots that'll dole out lashings of Belgium's finest? I'll not be far from Dulle Griet, so that's on the list. Has anybody else been? Any tips? Thanks in advance! :)

Isn't the beeb meant to be an organisation promoting the religion of climate change?

Apparently not... https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/oct/24/bbc-apologises-over-interview-climate-sceptic-lord-nigel-lawson Cue 5 pages of the usual suspects with the usual arguments ;)

    Beer52 code

Apologies if this sort of thing isn't kosher... I listen to the Athletico Mince podcast (Bob Mortimer). One of their sponsors is the Beer52 beer subscription folk. They have the offer code 'mince' which gets you 8 beers for ~£6 p&p. I've just put my order in, but yet to receive it so...

    Wild yeast?

Does anybody have much experience with harvesting wild yeast from the great outdoors? On my lunchtime stroll route are plenty of fruit plants, including blackberries & elder. I thought I'd nab some to see what's hanging around. Added fruits to 300 ml of ~1.030 wort with a couple of hop pellets...

Hi all, Just a quick one to say hello & introduce myself. I'm based in the sunny NW and am a complete(ish) novice to homebrewing. Currently got my first brew bottle conditioning. It's a bay & rosemary ale from Andy Hamilton's book. I've used extract in this case. I think I'll...
