    woodfordes admirals reserve

Considering that stuck fermentations is such a well known issue with Woodforde's kits I'm astounded that neither Woodforde's or Munton's have done anything to address it. I'm sure it must be bad publicity and a potential hit on their sales?

    Pimp my Wherry

Thanks for the ideas guys. I think I'll keep it to a two can brew as I've got a Young's American Pale Ale up next. I'm guessing that the EKG is more of an aroma hop that the Challenger so I guess I might do the hop tea with the Challenger and use the EKG to dry hop after fermentation. Does...

    Pimp my Wherry

Morning all, I'm going to be sticking a Wherry on this weekend and was hoping to get some advice on what to do with it. The pic below shows all the different bits I've got for tweaking which are CML US Pale Ale yeast, CML Real Ale yeast, 100g EKG, 100g Challenger, 100g Citra, bag of malted...

    Muntons disappointment

Is the yeast a good quality one though? Say, if you had two Munton's kits would it be worth using both yeast sachets in one kit and then using a decent replacement for the other?

Blonde Ambition by Shepherde Neame/Sam Adams...wow

I didn't think it was AS bad as you're making out, especially considering it was only a pound a bottle. They also have a Wadworth IPA on offer at a pound which I found to be a lot worse.

    Ideas for a Woodfordes Sundew

Would it be worth using both sachets of the yeast in one kit and buying a replacement yeast for the other kit?

    Ideas for a Woodfordes Sundew

I was one of the lucky ones to pick up a couple of the Sundew kits in the recent Tesco sale. I was just wondering, who else managed to pick these up and what are your plans for it. Any ideas?

    Keeping FV warm

We never use the dishwasher. It's a brand new integrated one but we just found it easier to wash up. I took the drawers out, stuck polystyrene sheeting on the internal walls and made a pullout shelf out of some MDF. It works really well apart from trying to keep a constant temperature. At the...

    Keeping FV warm

Thanks for the advice. I think that perhaps the fridge conversion option would be best. I've got a corner of the garage I could possibly squeeze it in to. Just thought I'd ask as I haven't seen anything that isn't mains fed.

    Keeping FV warm

I have been brewing my beer in the dishwasher for almost a year now. I know it might sound silly but it keeps it out of sight which keeps the wife happy. Anyway, it works OK but one thing I struggle with is maintaining a constant temperature. I am looking for a heating solution that isn't mains...

    The smell of fermentation

My wife is also pregnant and is always complaining of smells. I been brewing mine in the dishwasher. It keeps a steady temp and any smells stay sealed away.
