    Beer Enhancer or household sugar?

Ok great, Is it better to boil the sugar in a little water, cover and let it cool? .... Just for sanitation purpose's? ... I mean will the beer still prime as normal if boiled with water first? My last brew i didn't boil the sugar 1st, i added it dry, as it was. The beer turned out fine just id...

    Beer Enhancer or household sugar?

What do you lot use and why? ... Still new to brewing and just set of my second ever brew in the FV. For both brews so far ive used a 1kg bag of Young's Beer Enhancer so dont know what home brew tastes like with household sugar but is it really worth the extra £3.50 for the Beer Enhancer...

Hey again, im back :) Went out and bought another FV. Bought the same Coopers European larger ... Everything seemed to go really smooth this time, got the temps bang on(for pitching yeast)and i even managed to remember to take a hydrometer reading BEFORE i pitched the yeast this time lol. Also...

    Brand brewster here ....

Ok my maths aint the best so hopefully i have worked this out right, i know im not getting the full 5 gallons out of the FV so this is just an example. 5 Gallon barrel. 1 Gallon = 4.5 liters. 7 Grams of sugar per Liter. So if i have worked this out correctly that would mean for 5 Gallons of...

I'm using a 25L pressure barrel, not sure how much sugar to use in that for second fermentation? Oh and is it still OK to leave it longer after fermentation has finished even if my FV isn't air tight? Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk 2.

    Brand brewster here ....

There is a very thin layer of foam/throth on the top and the wort is still making a hissing/bubbling sound(like a fizzy drink sound) I was under the impression the foam would disappear and the wort would be completely fizz free/flat once fermenting had finished? I'll take a hydrometer reading...

Well its still got a very thin layer of foam on the top, Not as much action as i though, Like in some of the vids on youtue ive watched. Also is making the same sound a fresh fizzy poured coke makes. Got a really strong beer/larger aroma to. Does the above sound about normal?

    Brand brewster here ....

Yes me to, think i chose a strange time of year(summer time)to try my 1st brew with the temp needed to be cooler for larger, still currently around 19c here. my FV has dropped to 22-23c so i guess it should drop a few more degrees more by tomorrow. Like i said ill leave it in the bedroom in...

    Brand brewster here ....

Well i had my wort FV in the airing cupboard hence the high temp(as i read the wrong temp specs) ... Anyway i know its not ideal to move the FV but i figured it must be better to move the FV and try to cool it down to save my brew rather than leave it in that heat and ruin. The FV is currently...

    Brand brewster here ....

Damn i feel really stupid! Just read the instructions thoroughly and at the bottom it told me to refer to page 7 for European larger .... recommended temps are 13-21c ... Does that mean my brew is no good now? If i move it now could i save the wort?
