    All in one systems.

I changed from my propane 3 vessel with cool box mash tun to an all in one (cheap version), mainly to save space and I also wanted electric. If I had a dedicated garage etc, 3 vessel is easier and possibly cheaper but I love mine and think it was the best investment I've made.

Carbonating corny keg at room temperature but serving chilled.

Why don’t you add priming sugar to the keg and secondary ferment instead of carbing at room temp?

    Blichmann Beer Gun

I hadn't seen the Tapcooler until this thread but now I have, i think that's what I'll be getting! Been looking at the blichmann but seems too much of a hassle... Tapcooler seems like a great plan though!

    son punkie ipa questions

If recipies say Dry Hop 5 days, it means to dry hop for 5 days. Personally i'd let it ferment for 2 weeks, then add the hops and leave for 5 days, then package. If the hops go in during fermentation, you lose flavour and aroma and if they're left in too long can result in grassy flavours.

    Sourcing grains..fair price?

I will also be trying HBC next time and the Hook Head pale malt :) FYI- i live in stoke and have looked at staffordshire brewery before. Those prices are ex VAT and there's an additional charge if you only want one sack. Works out about £20 a sack but they're only open 9-5 monday to friday to...

    Show us your brew space/Bar

This was my brewshed on Sunday... Whilst mashing and boiling I was clearing the garage out which will soon be my brewhouse... I don't think SWMBO knows that's why I'm clearing it out though. Then I'll have room for a fermentation fridge and she won't moan about buckets in the house... win win!

    Kegs

I’ve just recently set up my 2 keg kegerator with an under counter fridge. It’s easier thank you think and I got my taps and fittings etc from the beer tap online shop (on eBay) and was more than thrilled with service and price. He also helped me with what fittings I needed- more so than some of...

    Brewery Tours and Visits

I went to the Titanic brewery tour on Saturday (Burslem, Stoke on Trent). I'm a local so worth it, didn't tell me much more than what I already knew about all grain brewing but still a good experience and got 3 pints along with a bowl of lobby. (local stew basically) Definitely worth going and...

New England DIPA Brew Day (BIAB) Cloudwater v13 clone attempt

I know it’s not really the correct thread but i did a brew in the kitchen, went pretty well to be honest. Windows steamed up etc with French door slightly open and windows open and extractor in full power, how do you combat this? Hob just about held a rolling boil, will see how it tastes.

New England DIPA Brew Day (BIAB) Cloudwater v13 clone attempt

I’d say it takes 20 mins on the burner from mash temp to rolling boil for about 28l I might try it on our hob as we’ve got a big ring (giggity) too Weather getting **** now so brewing indoors may be the best bet

New England DIPA Brew Day (BIAB) Cloudwater v13 clone attempt

How long does it take you to get to a boil on the job? I have the same 32l pan and it takes long enough on my propane burner so just curious Thanks
