New here - saying hi! Love to brew cider...

Just taken gravity readings for the toffee apple since it seems to have just about stopped fermenting. 0.98 - that gives me around the 13% mark. Way stronger than I'd like but hey ho! Gonna leave it in the primary for a bit and let it clear down before I do anything else.

Where to find: Swing top bottles and apples, LOTS of them..?

Cheers buddy. I was keeping a lazy eye on Evilbay but its good to know I can get the bottles for less than the magic £1 each locally. I would just buy and drink Grolsch but Im not overly fond of it (its ok but I dont like it enough to drink enough to get enough bottles enough with the enoughs!)

Where to find: Swing top bottles and apples, LOTS of them..?

I live in Northumberland. I have zero social media presence (deliberately). Now, where can one obtain swing top bottles (the cheapest I have found is £1 each)... And where might I find large quantities of apples? At the moment I brew with supermarket juice, but I am looking at...

Hello from Northumberland - Cider brewer

Yeah, but then I wouldn't be making a (****) joke then with a bunch of dots... Unless you can read Morse code, then there's loads of combinations of punctuation that can be funny! Mind you, ......... in Morse is "SSS" - the noise a good brew makes when you lift the lid! So fitting, I suppose!

Hello from Northumberland - Cider brewer

Alreet lad! Newbiggin - not a local though. Mam's a Geordie lass but I'm a bit of a nomad, ended up stuck up here haha! It may take off, it may not. I'm not bad at the old brewing, but the trouble is that'll suffer if I scale up production too much, no love in the brew changes the taste (nah...

Hello from Northumberland - Cider brewer

Cheers. And now I have to type stuff to make it more than ten characters. That should do it... :D

Hello from Northumberland - Cider brewer

Slowly gaining experience here and still learning (aren't we all?), finding recipes that work, recipes that don't, and ones that every now and then make you go "WOW!" - hoping to scale up production slowly with a view to eventually selling (yes I know it's not straight forward, believe me I've...

New here - saying hi! Love to brew cider...

Well, I've brewed a few batches of cider and dandelion wine in the past, steadily ramping up production. At the moment I have 12 litres of toffee apple and 12 litres of honey and ginger in to brew (they will be split 50/50 into still and sparkling when I bottle them). SG of the...
