Equipment For Sale 2 x 19l corney kegs for sale

As stated. Keg lids have new seals as do posts. No issues with them. I am cutting back on the amount I brew so haven’t used these in the past year or so. £50 each or £90 the pair. Collection from mid Wales but will post if buyer arranges courier.

    "Beer Masters" Amazon Prime videos

Mmm not sure about this. The fact that it starts out with James Blunt telling them they are the best of the best was a little off putting. It seems to be based on a documentary called “Kings of Beer” which is also on prime.

    Taprite regulators

Just another quick question. Of the 3regulators only the centre ones needle returns to zero when turned off and purged. The other two seem to sit around 10psi. Is there any way of adjusting them?

    Taprite regulators

Fox at you are a star. They are perfect. Just tried the ones on my keg. I can only assume isolation has fried my brain. Cheers for that.

    Taprite regulators

I’ve recently scored a bargain set of 3 taprite regulators. Unfortunately the gas outlet is male threaded and I have no idea what fitting I can use for my pipes. I’d prefer a John Guest fitting rather than a barbed fitting but don’t know what size fitting. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Cross My Loof Belgian ale yeast

I’ve left it in the fermentation fridge and it’s down to 1012. I’m going to leave it a while longer but very pleased so far. I was a bit worried it wouldn’t handle such a big beer but I needn’t have worried about that. Time to try their new yeasts

Cross My Loof Belgian ale yeast

You are absolutely right. I usually use it after mashing. No idea why I did it today apart from being half asleep. I’m going to leave it another week and see what happens.

Cross My Loof Belgian ale yeast

Has anyone used CML Belgian ale yeast and if so what was your experience? I’ve just done a Belgian tripel with a SG of 1084. I used a single packet of the above yeast with a second in reserve. As it’s a big beer I fully expected a 2-3 week fermentation at 22deg C but six days later and it’s at...

    Too good to be true?

They are all over Facebook with different company names. None of them take PayPal payment which is an immediate alarm bell. As POTUS would say “fake news”.

    Ideas needed BIAB setup

i recently acquired an old burco wash boiler for the grand sum of £5. It was used for brewing in the past. It isn’t the standard round burco but the older square model. I’m setting it up for recirculating BIAB but am struggling for ideas for a grain basket or some way of keeping the bag off the...

    Burco boiler simmerstat

Just a quick update regarding my original post. I had a day off and decided to have another look at my simmerstat wiring. One thing that always puzzled me was the little green thing connected to the live and neutral wires (post #6). This came with the original wires and I never questioned what...

    Burco boiler simmerstat

Yep and kids think they are the only ones who can make up strange words the rest of us don’t understand. It’s like being a junkie. You start of with the basic gear and before you know it you’re hooked. You enter the dark side and learn all these strange new names but at the end of the day it...

    Burco boiler simmerstat

Sounds like the way to go. I’d be interested to see the circuit diagram if you do manage to dig it up. I certainly have some food for thought now so time to try something new. Many thanks for the help and info.

    Burco boiler simmerstat

I started this hobby in 1990 with no idea what I was doing. I inherited a lot of equipment, found a book on brewing in the library and started straight off with all grain. I made awful beer but I was hooked. Part of the enjoyment for me is refining my equipment. I have no intention of going...

    Burco boiler simmerstat

I agree. I’ve hummed and haad about the all in one route but making something myself that produces good beer gives me a great sense of accomplishment. My wife is on at me to build a pub/entertainment area so I may have to stop the mad science for a while and sort out a new brew shed. The old...

    Burco boiler simmerstat

I don’t at the moment. It’s pretty hit and miss what you get when you order them. The first one had a limited number of connections so you couldn’t use a pt100 and the second one had an inbuilt relay so you couldn’t use an ssr. I managed to bypass that but by that point I’d got the inkbird so...

    Burco boiler simmerstat

I remember a year or so ago looking at this but then you may as well buy the grainfather connect controller for less than £100. I’ve thought about going down the pi route or maybe arduino but only because I stepmash a lot. I brew Belgian trippels and quadrupples but not often enough to justify...
