    Red wine kit quality

All it says it to test after 12 days and if it reads same 3 days running, rack off and add timings.. but if it's fizzy, I can't see it's ready! I'm happy to be a bit patient and see.

    Help on fermentation please.

Great advice thanks. Would you suggest moving yo a warmer room or would it stir sediment too much? It's in plastic bucket (Sorry for lanes terms)

    Help on fermentation please.

Yep. I didn't want to change temp in middle of process. We have a heat belt for future. So will hydrometer readings not be different at different temps? Sorry for stupid questions. Just getting impatient

    Help on fermentation please.

It's a Craft Range Sessions cab sav 14 day. Instructions say at day 12 take 3 daily readings (rack off if same for 3 days...this is day 19). It has stayed the same but not moved passed 1.000 at 16°. I read that hydrometer should read 1.000 at 20° so i just wanted to see what sample was...

    Help on fermentation please.

How did it turn out? I'm using a 14 day kit and due to cooler room, still fermenting on 3rd week. Took a sample and gently heated in a water bath to 20° and hydrometer reads 0.996. I also didn't know to take initial reading and now I'm worried it's gone too far! I get a slight fizz when I...

I've a Craft Range Sessions cab sav kitits in fv for 3 weeks on a 14 day kit. Temp is stable at 16 (had offer of heat belt but didn't want to fluctuate) and today I did test and gently raised temp to 20 for reading it has very slight fizz and hydrometer reads 0.996. Do I leave longer in fv...

@Chippy_Tea we have managed to stabilise temp at 16 for last 4 days. Hydrometer reading done 3 times in last 6 days and still right on 1.00 . Smells better today but still tastes like grape juice. Is it ruined or do I let it ferment a little longer?

@vinotinto thanks. Instructions say between 18 and 21 but lots of posts gave totally different ranges. I'll keep an eye on the hydrometer and keep fingers crossed.

Thanks Chippy. I've read loads on here now and feel confident this batch will survive! I didn't want to put heating on in that room to avoid fluctuation and thought dormant better than overheat and kill the yeast. I'll take on board the warning of hydrom reading. Prefer drier finish to sweet...

How did it turn out? I'm on my first batch of kit wine. No foam and scared to check it or disturb it in anyway. It's really cold at the moment and read a fee comments that say it just takes longer.

Hey guys. At day 11 of a 14 day wine kit. Never brewed anything before. Live in Ireland and it's quite cold now. Using plastic bucket fermenter and at 14° and read lower temps take longer. Curious as to how long. What should my hydrometer say before fining etc... basically I need a tutor 😊
