    Show us your beer.

My first ever (and so far only!) all grain brew, a Saison from a "kit" (all of the grain, hops and yeast together, with a recipe/brew sheet).

When does a beer stop fermenting...?

Interesting stuff, cheers. The question was mainly borne out of curiosity around what happens with priming - i.e., if the second point had been correct, the yeast would be dead and no priming can take place. Presumably then, you could add more sugar, and leave the beer for longer and end up...

When does a beer stop fermenting...?

I'm wondering - when will a beer, left to its own devices in the FV, stop fermenting naturally? I've Googled it and come up with a couple of answers: 1) When all the sugar is used up - I would have thought this would lead to an extremely dry beer, but I've since read that this maybe only...

    Sad day ...

Pvt, what type of bag left you with bits? Usually a Muslim cloth is fine enough not to let anything out... Also, with time and chilling they should clear well. Saisonator, the taste/cloudiness are extremely subjective, so fair enough. I'm not a pro, and I too would be miffed if I bought a...

    What is this stuff worth?

Hey Pit, I happened across this, so hope you don't mind me sticking my 5p worth in! I'm quite new to all-grain brewing and new to this site, but you seem in two minds so thought some advice might help. I was pondering for ages what kit I'd need, how much room I'd need, etc. and was in danger...

    Sad day ...

The first time I dry hopped on an extract kit (only my 2nd or 3rd ever extract kit, I think), I didn't realise that when bottling there would be loads of bits floating about, just hadn't considered it. I ended up filling 40 bottles through a small kitchen funnel with a muslin cloth stuck in it...

    Golden Ale clone...

Thanks for the detailed responses, appreciate it. MyQul, I've heard of Maxi-BIAB. Maybe a bit more than I can chew at the moment though - I think the best route will be to scale back by a 3rd or so (it's only my 2nd go so I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible!). One question though - my...

    Golden Ale clone...

Afternoon folks, I'm looking for a little assistance. I picked up a recipe from the web, I've pasted it below. I have a couple of questions on it... - Since I work with a 20 litre pot, I'd be looking for my boil amount to be 20 litres. Can I just scale the recipe back by whatever that number...

    Hello...

I'm new here, so just wanted to say hello... acheers. I've recently moved from extract to all-grain brew, doing a BIAB with a small, 20-litre pot, and had decent results, and will post some stuff shortly. Happy brewing... :)
