    Ah right, This is my first attempt at wine/mead, only made beers to date So to stabilise id use a campden tablet and a tsp of wine stabiliser ? Thanks for the tip !

    Moley I put it in a bucket as I read it could be quite lively during fermentation.... I do have 1Gal DJ's, ill transfer into one of them. Re Hyrdo readings, I was seeing if fermentation had stopped by taking readings on consecutive days to see if its the same.

    Hi All, Got a slow or stuck fermentation I think.... I Followed the recipe from Ben's and I used a Youngs wine super yeast compound. Does not appear to be a lot going on though, Details of start off: Began 31/10/2011 1 Gallon in a 5 Gallon fermenting bin SG 1.070 Currently Airlock bubbling...

    I love this brewing lark..

    Hi Ive not tried it before so waiting eagerly Its pretty lively... I added 1KG of Belgium white sugar also.. Only costs £4 quid or so to make 5ltrs if you get the juice when a sale is on so worth a go. Ill post re the mango cider once I start bottling.. Good luck Chris

    I use pressure barrels for the larger and beer, then bottle the cider in swing top bottles. Barrels should be fine for a good few months, bottled stuff around a year I understand. Made some London Porter last year and was drinking it into Feb out of a barrel 3 months on and still tasted fine...
