so i started my first homebrew about 5 days ago... had a look on how it was doing today ad took this pic. I am a little concered about the brown residue collectin g around the side of the fermenter. is something happening here? or am i just over-reacting?

brewing virgin... just got my first kit today. looking to brew many belgian and wheat beers! Got a basic set-up so far of one primary fermenter and one secondary. One thing i'm not sure on is keeping my fermenter at a set temp. any suggestions on thermal belts/electric blankets ect
