    Cleaning kettle with electric element

We use fairy in our copper and then after every 8 brews it gets a deep clean with PBW. The outside just gets a wipe as we go.

    Wiring Diagram Cedaronics Temperature Controller

Thanks @SteveH Appreciate the advice and wish I knew a friendly electrician. Managed to find another relay which is closer to our original but now with an additional NC terminal. It is only rated at 20a on the NO and 10a on the NC. Not sure which one is better. Pics attached.

    Pre built pid temperature controller

Does anyone have a simple wiring diagram that they could share. I have managed to kill 2 Inkbird PIDs (ITC-100VH) following the YouTube clip which was attached earlier in this thread and the wiring diagram attached.

    Wiring Diagram Cedaronics Temperature Controller

Hi all. Sadly our Cedaronics temperature controller is no longer with us as it decided to melt its relay after 3 years of loyal service. So having bought another relay I thought it would be a simple swap, how wrong could I be as I just cannot find a relay the same as the one we had so my...

    Corny Keg - eBay

I just spotted them too, can't see an issue unless anyone else on here knows differently.

    Adjusting mash Temps

Hi Rodwha Bit of a minefield with temperatures as keeping the mash at different temperatures will give you different outcomes. It is usually best to try and keep at one temperature than a range though, unless you are doing a step infusion, so try to insulate your mash tun as best you can and...

    Fermenting Issues

Hi Fil Yes we do recirculate through an external chiller but have a very fine filter fitted under our hop filter and we think that as this gets fuller the pump starts to draw air in from anywhere it can. We are going to remove this and put a finer filter into the mash tun instead. We generally...

    Fermenting Issues

Bit of an update: Managed to find the air leak so the creamy head shouldn't happen again. Going to warm up the fermentation to see if that kick starts things into life.

    Fermenting Issues

Hi all hope you can help. The last 2 brews have had this thick creamy residue left in the Boiler during the cold break. It doesn't happen until the last 15-20 mins and up to that point the wort has been pretty clear. The previous 15 or so brews have all been fine and were clear going into the...

    Blichmann Hop Rocket

In excellent condition, used about 8 times. We have upgraded to a bigger Hop Back so surplus to requirements. Only bought last year for £130 so looking for £80. Complete with instructions. Collect from PE283EG or CB216GH or can courier for about £10 - £15.

    hop rocket flow rate

We have a more beefy pump and it is that fact that caused ours to block as we were pumping too hard. Now we have the wort flowing from the top we are able to start off slowly and then ramp up to full speed. We still have the hop rocket after our plate chillier so the first few cycles are all...

    hop rocket flow rate

We only use the smallest size mesh and not the 4" cylindrical part.

    hop rocket flow rate

We have now started to use the Hop Rocket upside down so that the wort gets pumper through the top and out the bottom, the opposite to the instructions. This way we can start the flow off slowly and then steadily increase to full speed after about 3 minutes. We have taken out the inner chamber...

    Hop Rocket Users

We initially had some issues with ours becoming plugged but this was resolved by adjusting our flow rate, ours is pumped rather than gravity fed. We now have ours set in the following order: Cycle 1 COPPER - PUMP - CHILLER - HOP ROCKET - COPPER Cycle 2 COPPER - PUMP - HOP ROCKET - FV

    hop rocket flow rate

What amount are you adding to the Hop Rocket as we have had some issues with blockages even though we weren't going at full speed and had less than the recommended amount of hops?

Months of preparation have led to this....

You can get some more info here: http://esfabrications.co.uk The HLT holds 140ltr, the Mash Tun is 120ltr and the Copper is 130ltr, our FV is supposed to be 100ltr but even though the Copper was full (it boiled over with the lid on) we have managed to get it all in there without fermenting over...
