    Thank you for the inspiration. I have a few kg of MO and a batch of saved nova lager yeast in the fridge; now I have my beer plan for tomorrow brewing.

    Going back to kits?

    I have been buying 25kg bags for a while now, but I do find there are gaps in my brewing schedule due to long travel or bad timing; I bought a vacuum sealer from Kmart ($35), and it saves the grain for ages, and reduces smell and insects.

    wow, what a terrific idea. im going to give this a try. perhaps it will give me the 'taste' im missing in my TTL, or British milds.

    Fermentation stalling

    for what it's worth, I have found a number of brews using german yeast to have a strange 'stall' at the 1.020 stage. happens for me with 3068, and wlp029 my house fav the Schneider weisse yeast. but they all seem to kick it up and run to the fg after a day or so. its an odd quirk.

    sorry for the delay in replying - fell off the planet. Yes, aus does get very hot in summer. but i had a nice big shed and could fit two large fridges. happy brewing temp was maintained. here in Singapore however, space is at a premium, so its a small fridge and 1 fermentor at a time.

    I've been brewing for a while; recently invested in a robobrew and all seems to be working ok. all of my experience was in Australia, but now I'm living in Singapore the heat makes brewing a tad more complicated. came across this forum in my quest to create cask ale. keen to discuss techniques...
