    Been in 5 days, because I barrel it I normally leave it 7 days in FV then siphon it to the barrel as it should clear nicely as it ages and I prefer slightly cloudy ale. at 3.4%approx im not too fussed but would like the FG a little lower. Cheers Luke

    Hi all, Still got 2 days to go in primary fermenter for my Woodfordes Wherry. Its at 1020 and has lowered from 1032 2 days ago, do you think it will go down to the usual 1010ish ready to keg or should I add something to help it along? what would you guys recommend I do? Cheers, Luke

    Yes before when i poured the extract and water in, before adding the yeast. Thanks My hopes are higher now. By the way should there be foam, its only been fermenting 40 mins but before i added yeast there was foam but now its gone. Im new to this stuff :oops:

    Hi all, i just mixed an EMDE Stout and the smell is intense, the only problem is it smells like burnt black treacle, is this normal? its not like the smell of any other stout ive drank

    well im going to our wilkinsons today so if they have a bottler i will buy that and a spigot for my bucket and then bottle it

    dont worry, 6 months is max, less if i go camping haha, i know some age their beers for 6 months so hopefully it will be fine

    Thanks all, well i rarely drink due to operating rail vehicles as weekends so i only have a couple of pints a week, but i homebrew to save money. So i will invest in some co2 cartridges and keep it topped up with those when its starts to get a little flat.

    Hi, Im new to this, and i am going to ferment the youngs bitter in a fermenting bucket for 1 week then siphon it to a plastic pressure barrel. Does anybody know how long the beer will last in it? Regards Luke
